Sudanese Branding: Rafiq's House

Sudanese Restuarant
The brief requested us to produce a brand for a sudanese restaurant. The deliverables were: a logo, interior wall art, menu and stock items. The target audience are young and on trend individuals.
I approached this brief by first naming the restaurant:Rafiq's House. The reason behind the name was to provide a hotspot that represented the sudanese culture. The country and its people are known for being hospitable not just to friends but also strangers. I believed the food joint needed to represent this, so i looked into the translation of friend into Arabic and was presented with "Rafiq". From there, i believed the name needed more and so i thought of the most hospitable place i knew and that was; home.

The logo of "Rafiqs House" is of the secretary bird, the national animal of Sudan.  The feathers of this particular bird provided me the opportunity to display them as knives to highlight that this was a joint to grab food. The secretary bird would be a common symbol through out their brand.
